My purpose for creating onthegowithlynne is to share my travel experiences and tropical musings; however, I have gained insights into the world through others eyes. I am in awe at the continuous flow of bloggers who bring their perspective to life be it travel, creative writing, personal fulfillment, artistic expression, photography, caregivers, work/career, etc. Blogging has been a valuable tool in educating me…through you…fellow bloggers.
Your comments, feedback and support are indeed enough, but with gratitude I wish to thank two bloggers who nominated me for the One Lovely Blogger Award.
Sumithra Sriram of hearingwiththeeye, a delightful young college student who loves books, music and travel. Ellie Kuykendall of themuseisworking who is a freelance writer/editor whose mission is to help others.
Here are the rules for One Lovely Blog Award:
- Thank the blogger that nominated you and provide a link.
- List seven things about yourself.
- Nominate 15 or so bloggers you admire.
- Contact your chosen bloggers to let them know.
Seven things about me:
- I love to cook Asian, especially spring rolls.
- I know about thirty words in Swahili…my favorite being: lala salama which translates as go in peace or sleep in peace.
- My next travel goal is India.
- I lived in a log cabin for thirty years that my husband built.
- I have six delightful grandchildren.
- I love all things tropical except for hurricanes.
- I can get lost in a museum and not mind a bit, but the great outdoors is where I prefer to be.

Congratulations on your much deserved awards! I love the phrase “lala salama”, so beautiful 🙂
Thanks letizia. I spent two weeks working in a girls’ orphanage in Tanzania and every night before bedtime they would wish me lala salama. I was so touched.
Congrats and thanks for the nomination!
Your blog is deserving of it. And when I decide to go to your part of the world, I will be better prepared…because of your travel information.
Congratulations! It’s fun to see the facts about you – can’t imagine living in a log cabin! What was it like on the inside, and where was it?
Thanks for the nomination as well – it may take me a few days to get to it since I am a bit overwhelmed by moving back to school atm!
No need to rush, Miranda. Take your time. As for the log cabin, it was in western North Carolina on five acres. The inside and outside were of the rounded logs.Very cozy. Thanks for asking and best wishes to you as you move back to school.
Congratulations Lynne. Six grandchildren….wow! My daughter has told me i should stop dreaming of a granddaughter 😦 Interesting that you chose the South of India versus the golden triangle of Agra, Jaipur, Delhi or even Rajasthan! But Kerala is beautiful 🙂
I see it as two trips, probably. Still working it all out. Actually,I definitely want to visit the golden triangle. I have two grandchildren (boys) and four step grandchildren as of last May. (3 boys and a girl). I so love them all…that they are all “my grandchildren”. Have jumped from 2-6 in one leap.
