3 days … 3 quotes challenge: Take Me to the Beach

“At the beach, life is different. Time doesn’t move hour to hour but moment to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun.”

~ Sandy Gingras

Bahamas Beaches

Summertime. Hot sand, warm breezes, turquoise waters. I feel like I live in paradise with the beaches so close. In fact, we can get in our little boat and head to the beach faster than going by car…and have a lot more fun. Here is a link to the beach close by.

However, the beach in the photograph that Ron took is on Cat Island in the Bahamas. Not one we can reach by boat or car. A distant beach that we had to ourselves for several days.

Where is your favorite beach? How much time to you get to spend there?

Thanks to Sylvia of anotherday2paradise.wordpress.com for tagging me to do the 3 days, 3 quotes challenge.

The rules of the challenge are:

1) Thank the person who nominated you.

My 3 nominees for today are:

  1. A beautiful photo and the perfect quote, Lynne. 🙂

  2. Am pleased you like it, Sylvia and thanks for the nomination.

  3. Letizia says:

I love the idea that it’s faster to get somewhere by boat than by car. I’m more of a mountain or lake person than a beach person (I need shade, haha!) but I have lovely memories of time spent with family and friends in Jamaica, sitting on the beach, no notion of the time.

    • Wherever one lands…beach, lake, mountains…it’s the friends, family… or just plain solitude that creates the memories. I’m seeking more shade, too, Letizia. I don’t want to send my dermatologist’s kids to college. 🙂

  4. restlessjo says:

Oh, that’s very sneaky, tagging the husband! 🙂 But doesn’t he take a wonderful photo? A beach-lover’s bliss!

  5. Sneaky me. Watch out, you’re being tagged too. 😀

  6. Sneaky you, is right! Haha! I’m going to take you up on this challenge, simply because I think you know how much I like to include quotes in my posts. 🙂 Thanks, Lynne. Tomorrow is Ron’s birthday, and I am searching for the perfect quote to meet your challenge.

    • this queue of comments is making me chuckle a lot! it’s great to be included with such great folks, though i’m not sure when i’ll be able to recriprocate. thanks, lynne… happy belated birthday ron in nicaragua.. and how are you both doing, post chikungunya patients on ometepe?

thanks, lynne, for allowing this little after-hours chat w/you, your ron, debbie, debbie’s ron and me! logging off, past my bedtime!

  7. Ahh! I know you’ll pick the right quote and photo, Debbie. Sneaky you. Ron will be surprised.😎

  8. Madhu says:

Gorgeous! How easy it would be to forget time on a beach as beautiful! And how wonderful – and envy inducing – it is that you and Ron had that all to yourself for a week! 🙂

  9. Not only did we have the beach to ourselves, but it seemed like we had the entire sleepy island to ourselves. There was a festival the week prior to our arrival and we were told there wasn’t a room to be found. I think we timed it just right. 🙂

  10. cindy knoke says:

    Absolutely gorgeous!

  11. Tahira says:

Dreamy! Makes me want to escape to a far off island in the middle of nowhere!

  12. It is so true, that’s how I feel about being at the beach – I wish I were in one of those tropical beaches now 🙂 the image by Ron is truly marvelous and inviting 😀

  13. I would expect you to be a beach person with all your gorgeous underwater photography. I love a good quiet beach. 🙂
