About Lynne

I live on an island. Paradise.
When I’m here, I boat, fish, shell
And enjoy the sunsets with the love of my life, my husband.

When I’m there…traveling…I savor the sunsets
In awe of being half way around the world.
Different culture…same sun.

I have boated up the Mekong River into Cambodia.
I have picked up shells and pottery shards in Vietnam.
I would like to fish in Belize and Costa Rica.

Wherever I am, I have learned to appreciate the moment.
To draw inspiration from the experience.
To write about the journey and not just the destination.

And to have fun…while I can still bend over to pick up a shell
And to cast without tangling my line.

  12. Lynn, I’ve been reading your blog most of the day…well at least when I have a strong internet connection and after I rake my mangoes. 🙂 I knew you were a kindred spirit when I saw that you are a retired teacher, a writer, live on an island, and have a passion for travel. Thank you for your insights into an amazing world. If you decide to island hop…stop by my little island paradise, Ometepe Island, Nicaragua. I’ll have the hammock ready for you.

    • Debbie, I too am glad we connected. Yes, I believe we have a lot in common. In fact, I probably read that issue of Mother Earth your article was published in…when we were living in a log house, teaching, growing all our own food, raising dairy goats…you get the picture. Your hammock sounds inviting as well as your part of the world, Ometepe Island.Best of everything to you and husband Ron with your ongoing and meaningful projects.I want to spend more time on your website and will do so after a short little get a way.

    Hy Lyn,

You said you live on an island. In paradise. And the picture in the headbar reminds me of Ubud. It really arouses my curiosity, so now I would just ask you: are you living in Bali? 🙂

I used to live there and it is a great place! 🙂

    • I live on Pine Island which is off the coast of SW Florida.USA. It is one of those places that is under developed and reminded me of my childhood, so when we retired eight years ago, we moved here.Since we love all things exotic, my picture of the rice fields in Bali became my signature. We visited there over a year ago and loved it.I’m sure you have many happy memories of once living there. Thanks for your comment. I love your poetry.
